Reminiscence is thick in the air

Her eyes crinkled with happiness
As she received his gift.
Like a child excited over a candy store,
Her grin widened into a curve.
She whispered her thanks in his ears
As he pulled her close to him.

The warmth of his love,
It radiated through his hug.
Her strawberry-scented hair shampoo,
It lingered in his olfactory.
Love was heavy in the air,
Splashing sugar-laced water everywhere.

Memories of their relationship,
It dawned on his mind
Like ash clouding the air.
A sudden ache weighed him down
Like a boulder in the ocean,
Reminding him of his untimely loss.

Tears swam in his eyes
As he mused on their shared history.
Being with her soothed his fears.
The way her laughter sounded in his ears.
The way her words danced when she spoke.
All left his heart with a gnawing pain.

I stumbled upon this video on YouTube at their recommendation since I was watching another video by the same uploader. It basically describes the situation that I am in - spending more time alone than with people. I’m someone who's in the middle of the spectrum; too much time alone will make me comfortable in the silence whereas too little time alone will make me jumpy. There were bits and pieces that I related to, especially the eating part. It reminded me of how I snuck out of campus in second semester to have a date with myself during the Period 4 break from time to time, only to be harassed with text messages and phone calls. Could never understood people’s penchant with calls.

In the last 10 months, I’ve seen things that have rendered me colder than ice, which warrants spending more and more time alone. In fact, staying indoors for 3 - 4 days isn't surprising anymore. If I don't have obligations, I can spend as many days as possible alone to let the anger and annoyance dissipate.

I dreamt that I was in a furniture store with a male companion. The camera in my dream didn't pan to him, so I couldn't see his features or have a rough gauge of his identity. We were guided towards the furnishing department by one of the employees. On our way down the escalator, we found the person whom we wanted to see.

As we sat opposite the person in charge of the brightly-lit furnishing department, I noticed that some of the pathways were blocked with wooden dividers. It was a sign that the place was in the midst of a renovation. When he saw our initial drawings for the house furnishing, he said that it would be difficult and proceeded to write down the name of a real estate agent on our paper. Mind you, he did it secretly. I immediately knew that there was a conflict of interest for him and wondered if he disclosed it to his superiors the moment it occurred.

I know that my subconscious is still thinking about the corporate law exam because of two reasons. The first one is my confidence. Although it's now a done and dusted thing, I'm not confident in what I wrote on the exam booklet. Watching the kiddo in front of me asking for a second booklet from the invigilator didn't help much. The second one is embarrassment. I kind of embarrassed myself when the file containing my notes crashed onto the floor with a loud thud in the silent exam hall. Although no one cared about it, I felt that I was turning beet red and losing concentration to the point where I wanted to get out of there in that instant.

I'm definitely going bonkers.

On flipside of the dream, I'm about to break out into laughter even thinking about the possibility. It might be an indication into the future when it's time to purchase furniture for a new house that my significant other and I have bought. It could be, seeing that I couldn't see the person's facial features.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure whether my History score would've been much better if I had stumbled across Epic Rap Battles of History's videos in college. We learned about the characters depicted in both videos and how they contributed to mostly Russian history.



The battle between Romney and Obama is my favorite so far - and it definitely assisted me to understand some elements from Public Law.

Gee, I totally forgot about this comedy program until I stumbled upon it in YouTube some days ago. I used to watch it as a little girl, laughing my heart out at the openness (as well as the topics being explored O.o).

Yup, that might just be a hint as to how young I was, lol.
