7/2/2014

After a fortnight of struggling to comfortably sleep (I've been waking up at least once in the hours of 02:00 to 04:00 lately) due to the melting heat, I finally caught the necessary and adequate amount of sleep.

But I ended having a reverie about college and farewells.

I dreamt that there was a campus celebration in which all of the lectures and students, former and current, were invited to. There was a drama presentation that was presented by a group of six; my lecturer and I were two of them. There was a thunderous applause and a standing ovation from the audience at our performance. I breathed deeply while scanning the exited aura and bowed with the teammates.

The six of us took a selfie after the performance to officially signify the completion and the time spent in its execution. While the four of them - including my lecturer - left for home to recuperate, another person and I stayed back to assist with the next presentation. As we waited for that batch to be prepared, he inched closer to me. I was kneeling; he was seated on the floor. We both were enjoying a cup of coffee and taking five with some banter as he placed his right hand on my left thigh, sending chills to the base of my spine. I froze and looked at the half empty cup, frantically searching for something to flee the area when my best friend walked in to retrieve a tote bag se left behind earlier thus saving me from a terrible incident.

On another day, when I was emotionally better from the near-traumatic experience, my bestie dragged me to a nearby cafe for some rest, relaxation and food. She always joked that, "nothing like some food to boost the vitality".

Just as we were finishing our food, the waiter sashayed over and introduced a promotional offer of buying one ice cream tub of any flavor and having another for free. I hesitated and quietly declined, but my bestie jumped at the opportunity and handed me the cash to pick up the tab inside the restaurant. While in the queue, I met the matriculation acquaintances, Amanda and Alycia.

We never had the chance to sample the second ice-cream tub. My bestie and I shared one tub and passed the other to her brother, Jonathan, who posted it up on Instagram. He tagged me and my bestie, claiming and complementing on how delicious and satiating the chosen flavor was.

  1. No aircon? Mine's full blast - not that good for my old bones though...but the weather is simply too hot. So unbearable.

    1. Nope, no air-con. We don't sleep with it at all. Don't get me wrong; we have air-conditioners installed, but too much exposure to it will zap the moisture from the body or so the Chinese sinseh would say. =/

  2. your dreams are pretty vivid! my dreams are all a blur to me, and i tend to forget them pretty fast. i'm actually grateful for that, cos i think most of our dreams are scary reflections of our subconscious...

    1. I kind of wish that my dreams aren't as lucid as this one, Sean, because it will disrupt the next day's routine. Plus, it always has the same significance: I miss hanging out and talking to my friends and associates on campus. >.< Waking up to this almost gave me a headache figuratively. I do agree; it's definitely the reflections of what our mind wants... the psychology of Sigmund Freud, I must add. =D
