Epic Fail?

See what I mean?

I burst out giggling when I saw this sign because I immediately spotted the grammar error.

All the other signboards of the same message were at least phrased in a better way. It isn't perfect, according to Mama Carrie.

The person-in-charge could have gotten the message across to the drivers on the road in 3 simple words: do not litter.

    1. I know right, suituapui. It makes me wonder why the person-in-charge didn't notice it...

    1. Hey, Fish, the sign's located just after the Taman Seputeh entrance - if you're heading from KL to Mid Valley/Petaling Jaya. It's quite difficult to spot, but do keep an eye out on it! =)

  5. HAHAHAHA

Great example of Engrish! I really wonder why they don't hire a proper translate with good English to go over their copy before they print it on an expensive signboard.

    1. I know right, Huai Bin. That was my exact reaction too.

I can only think of a couple of reasons: 1) they figured that the translated and grammatically-wrong English didn't matter, as long as people understood; 2) the person-in-charge hadn't noticed it.

Embarrassing, if I may say, and I doubt this will be the last time we'll see Engrish fanning its wings.

    1. Knowing our Road Works Dept, I think so too, Eve. *sigh*

I wonder when they will learn of the grammatical error...
